[That actually leaves him speechless for a bit. God, where does he start.]
I don't know, um . . . Everything? That's not a good answer.
I feel safe with him. Like nothing bad can happen if he's there. And I like the way he looks at me, like I'm so much to him that he forgets the rest of the world exists.
[Ugh, oh no, he's getting all embarrassed now, shoulders hunched over the bowl.]
I mean, I was so . . . focused before, so I always looked but I never let myself get really invested, because I knew I had too much to do. And then I was invested in him without even meaning to be, and then I thought he liked me, and I didn't even realize how much I did until I started thinking about it.
That's worse! You can't say that with indignance, that's even worse, Giorno--
[He laughs and rubs the icing off, licking it as he does.]
Ohh, I didn't love him but I sure wanted to jump him-- I mean, I understand the feeling, who hasn't been there, but don't act like you're on the moral high ground.
I don't regret a thing. And don't you judge me. It was worth it and I would do it again. I would do it now, I don't care. I am a very focused person with excellent self-control but there are limits.
I'm not judging you! I'm just making sure I have the facts straight-- I'm your papa, I have to keep up on your love life. And your sex life, apparently.
You did not say that! You just said tell me about him! You were very unspecific!
[He s i g h s, so put-upon, and tastes the frosting, then offers the bowl up to Polnareff for final approval.]
He lets me sit in his lap sometimes. That's the best. It's nice being small sometimes. And he has really good hands. Big and broad, and gun calluses. And he has a really stupid sense of humor. But it's cute. And he loves movies, romantic movies. And his mouth.
One of my exes used to love sitting in my lap-- even just for homework, she'd just take a seat and open whatever book she had to read and that was that.
[By the way? Excellent icing, Giorno, and he hums his approval as he licks it off his thumb.]
I wouldn't've pinned him for a romantic movie guy, though.
It's so nice, you don't understand. It's so close, I love it, and I can just lean in and kiss him whenever I want to.
[He's just kind of hugging the bowl now, honestly.]
He really loves them. I didn't think he'd be a romantic either, but he is. He always wants to take care of people and make sure they're safe. Especially me. Mm . . . and he loves Pretty Woman best. I watched it with him once, but I was more watching him watch it than actually watching it, you know?
What's that movi-- you know what, I'm not good at romantic movies, it's not gonna matter much to me. What's he like watching his favorite movie? I mean, is he the kind to explain every moment or does he just get really into it?
Mm, both . . . he talks a lot at first but the longer the movie goes on, the more focused he gets. Sometimes he literally sits on the edge of his seat, even if it's a movie he's seen a thousand times. And then when it's over he just sighs like he's run a marathon and wants to get snacks and talk all about it.

[He settles in. He can wait for cocoa powder before stealing some.]

[He pauses in his stirring, thinking deeply.]
I'm not good at . . . when I'm focused on something, I'm not good at focusing on something else instead.
no subject
That's not exactly a flaw when you're in your line of work, I think.

[He dumps some cocoa powder into the bowl, bouncing on the balls of his toes.]
Mista is so great.

Tell me more about him.

[Listen, he can make jokes at his own expense.]
What do you want to know?
no subject
[he offers a grin.]
I don't know. Anything. What makes you happy about him?

[That actually leaves him speechless for a bit. God, where does he start.]

It's a good feeling, isn't it? To be with someone like that. To just be with them and be happy because they're around.

[This is the rudest thing that's ever happened in his life.]
He's so nice-looking and he never wears normal shirts, you don't understand. I suffered. A lot. Every day.

[He makes a vague noise.]
It was just what it was.
[That is, Giorno wanting something and just taking it.]
You started this anyway. I did warn you about opening the door. Now you have to listen to me talk about his abs.

[But he gestures, flipping a hand vaguely, which means: go on.]

[Giorno may die here.]
He likes touching my hair. He's so perfect.

It's so cute. I could watch him do that for days.

And what about you, Giorno, you like romantic movies at all?
[God, but that cake looks good.]
